Déjeun'art is a friendly event that invites the entire community to gather over coffee and a muffin to discover an artist's world. This initiative aims to promote the arts and highlight the work of local creators
At this event, come meet Sébastien Bérubé and explore his artistic world. He'll share his creative process, his inspirations, and his journey with you. This gathering fosters exchange, sparks curiosity, and encourages dialogue between the public and the artists.
"Sébastien Bérubé is an artist from northwestern New Brunswick. Initially known as a singer-songwriter and poet, he made a sensational debut in the world of prose with *Rivières-aux-Cartouches*, a bestseller that won the *Combat national des livres* (Radio-Canada), the Champlain Prize, and the 2024 Éloize Award for Artist of the Year in Literature.
Bérubé offers a candid and sensitive perspective on his region and on social and political injustices. After working as a school cultural development officer for the Maliseet First Nation of Madawaska, then as program director for Éditions Perce-Neige's "Voix émergentes" initiative, he is now a cultural worker and doctoral student, though he often takes time off to go hunting or to write when the weather isn't right."
This is a free event; registration is recommended to help with organization.
* This event is offered in French only
